Bachelor Party

Last night I had some friends from my neighborhood over to watch the finale of
The Bachelor. We ate, talked, (mostly through the show!) and watched as Jason waffled on which girl he was going to choose. We had a fun time and it was a good excuse to get together as girls without husbands (except for Jameson who conveniently was there to take our picture-thanks babe!). Thanks to everone for coming! It was fun and we need to do it more often!

My Favorite Things!

I was tagged by one of my friends to do this and have been trying to figure out how to narrow down 5 of my favorite things. I have too many favorite things but, here it goes:

#1: My Kids (Of course!)
Even though they are exhausting most days, I love the stage that my kids are in! They are all still so little and cute and they say the cutest things every day! Jaxon is a really great helper and he loves having his little sister and brother. He is pretty good at including them in the things he's doing. He loves school and is really good at everything he does. Brooklyn likes to stay close to me all day long and cracks me up that she studies everything I do. I have a mole above my top lip and for some reason she is intrigued with it and thinks that she has one too! She always points to her face and says, "Mole-ay". (And for those of you who are laughing right now, yes, it does remind me of that show!!) Gabe is such a happy baby. Jameson and I were talking about how he is so happy and he'll just be sitting there and start dancing. He gets punchy at night when he's tired and he'll just start laughing. He loves his mommy and I love that about him!! When I get him up in the morning he starts shaking he's so happy to see me and when I pick him up he sucks on my face!

#2: TiVo

I was just telling someone the other day that about 7 years ago one of our good friends was telling us about his friend/relative that was working on a new thing called TiVo- a way to pause live t.v.! I remember at the time thinking, "No way!" but fast forward 7 years and it's one of my favorite things! It is so nice to be able to record our shows and watch them when the kids are in bed or whenever we can. Of course, we've become quite the tv junkies because of it!!

#3: Scrapping with IKEA Goddess

For those of you who like to do digital scrapbooking, if you haven't been on this site then you're missing out!! This girls posts new freebies DAILY on her blog that you can download for free. I love, love, love using templates because I don't have time to create my own layouts in Photoshop. You should check her out if you haven't already!!

#4: Cadbury Mini Eggs

Must we really talk about these again?? No. I loved that all of you have a problem with them too! It made me feel so much better! I also wanted to let those of you who wanted to hoard them and sell them to desperate people for profit know that it's too late, someone already thought of it!!! They are being sold already on EBAY!! Which brings me to my next fav...

#5: Ebay

If you can't find it anywhere else, you can find it here. I am an Ebayer. I've found some great deals on Ebay and sold quite a few things on there as well. Some of my favorite things to search for include: vintage toys (it's scary that I've found toys that I played with in the Vintage Toys category!), rugs, kids' room accessories, clothes (for kids and adults), DVD's, crib bedding, books, jewelry, sheet sets, and the list could go on forever!

Confession time...

This picture might say it all for a few of you who share my passion for these little morsels but to those of you who don't, let me do my best to convince you to NOT try these because if you do, you will be, without a doubt ADDICTED FOR LIFE!!!
I LOVE Easter. I love the time of year, I love the meaning, I love the colors, I love the weather, and last but not least, I LOVE the candy!! It's pretty sad when I am scoping out which store has these things out first but, it's true I do! I wish I could remember the first time I had my first Cadbury Mini Egg....hmmm let me think...OH WAIT, I remember! Let me take you back.....It was 1999 and I had stopped by the grocery store after my college classes and needed some lunch to take to work. It was Easter candy season so I, of course couldn't pass up getting myself a treat. There it was, the purple bag I would soon be able to distinguish from a mile a way. I picked it up thinking that these might get me through a long day, never guessing by it's innocent flowery packaging the evil addictive powers that were in each egg. Off I went to work, my 7 hour shift in the grungy drive up of Alliance Credit Union. Seven hours with no lunch break made for a long day (how'd they get away with that anyway??) but I came prepared with my new find. The first bite was as if I'd tasted chocolate for the first time, chocolate with the same addictive powers of crack cocaine! I was hiding these bad boys so that no one would see the shamefulness of me shoving them in my face and so that I didn't have to share a one with ANYONE! Needless to say at this point, I left that night with a happy head, an unhappy stomach, a new addiction, and an empty bag.
Whew!! I feel better now! So many years of shame just out in the open! I'm curious though because there's NO WAY that I am the only one out there that's addicted-or maybe that's just wishful thinking. So, I want to know: Is anyone else is hooked on these things too? If so, we should collaborate and start an online business selling Cadbury Mini's during the "off" season!
Come on, confession time!!

AS IF!!!!

So, I just saw this article and stuff like this really bugs me!! Not because I am a die-hard Stephanie Meyer fan but because there should be some sort of camaraderie between writers, shouldn't there be?? I understand that Stephen King is an AMAZING writer and probably thinks (and is probably right) that Stephanie Meyer's success will be short-lived, but is he, Stephen King really questioning her MORALS??? Come on!! As if fictional HORROR is any better than a love story.

Going Private...

Well, I've debated for a while but after having something weird happen to my kids' pictures on my sidebar, I've decided to go private with this blog. I know I don't have a huge following or anything but those of you who would like to be invited to read it please email me at:
jennfrew@yahoo.com or leave a comment on this post with your email address and your name. You'll need a google ID to sign in but it's not a big deal to set one up. I'm just paranoid and would like to know that no weirdos are looking at my kids' pictures.

Our little Dee Dee

Brooklyn's birthday was on Saturday, the 24th and she turned 2!!! I can't believe she's two already..time flies!! I had an idea of what I wanted for her birthday along with the toys that I had held over for her from Christmas (don't January birthday's get gypped?). Jameson is always up for a home improvement project and he always does such a great job so I knew I didn't need to worry. We decided to paint and put bead board up in her room. She has been climbing out of her crib for some time now so I figured that it might be a good idea to get her a "big girl bed" anyway. So, we (well, Jameson) got it all done in time for her birthday. It looks great!!
We had to get a picture of her climbing just to remember it...

I think it turned out really cute and you gotta love all of my old bedroom furniture she's using!

She loved pushing around her dolly in her new shopping cart. She loves Dora but these boots were the only Dora thing she got from us other than....this professional looking cake ;) I tried, I really did. Jameson said it looked like a Simpsons character!! It kinda does but she liked it and knew who it was so, that's all that matters right??
We played pin the tail on the donkey too...

We're so thankful to have little Brooklyn in our family! She has such a cute personality and is so sweet to everyone she meets. She also has a little tough side to her too but I guess that's from living with two brothers. We love our little Brooky!!

Playing trucks with Jaxon while wearing her tutu.

Go Steelers!!

As some of you know, Jameson is a HUGE Steelers fan so last week we watched the playoff game with his brother Pace and his wife Jan who are also Steeler's fans. Needless to say, he's pretty excited about the Superbowl! Jaxon had a fun time watching the game all decked- out in his football garb too.
